First let me say about the warning for California residents. I checked, the warning concerning carcinigens also applies to humans no matter where you live.....it's just that California actually cares about the health of there residents. Wear gloves when you use it.
I have long looked for a serious, reasonably priced tire gauge to hook up to my compressor. THIS IS IT !!!
I use it to check the tires on my car, my riding lawn mower and my mountain bicycle. It does it so very well !!!
The good:
1 It's very robust with a serious protectant rubber guard around it.
2 the gauge is very easy to see
3 Battery changing is simple
4 Directions actually make sense and are usable.
5 I compared the pressures with several other stand alone gauges I have; one a professional truck tire gauge with a big clear scale......all read within 1 Lb of the Astro I am reviewing.
The not so good that is near irrelevant:
There is a clip on the nozzel designed to attach to the tire stem allowing for one hand operation. The clip will NOT maintain a seal....you have to apply pressure on the hose to to retain the seal during use. This one small issue is very very insignificant.
You will really like this unit. Just wear gloves!!

This tire gauge/inflator is better than Blue-Point (Snap-On). It reads to 0.1-PSI and I got it calibrated to check its accuracy...this gauge is accurate to 0.01-PSI! It was not off more than 0.01-PSI. I only had it calibrated to 80.0-PSI, but will read to 175.0-PSI. This gauge is very well made and tough and it has a nice feel. At half the price of a Blue-Point, it's worth four times that. If you want a tire inflator, this is the one to get.

Though somewhat pricey, the Astro Pneumatic digital tire inflator is an excellent product. I'm by no means a professional mechanic, but for airing up car, truck, bicycle, and landscape equipment tires, I find the Astro Pneumatic to be very useful, and extremely accurate. It also has a "deflate" feature built into the handle mechanism -- thus eliminating the need to disconnect the device from the tire chuck to let air out, if too much has been put in.
If you're looking for a high quality tire inflator, this is the one to get!
